Last night the 17th Annual Environmental Media Association Awards took place in Los Angeles, with The Soup’s Joel McHale hosting the show. This year, they’ll air for the world to see…so if you want to be surprised on November 7th when they air on E! at 8pm, then I would recommend not reading further.
If you’re not familiar with these awards, TV & Film productions are given a big pat on the back for tackling eco-issues and therefore raising public awareness. A great example is My Name Is Earl’s “Rob a Stoner Blind” episode from last year. It’s such a great example, in fact, that it won last night in the TV Comedic category.
Other winners included NUMB3RS, Living with Ed, Bindi the Jungle Girl, and Big Ideas for a Small Planet. Scrubs episode “My Mirror Image” won the Turner Award for bringing awareness to population growth. I remember that episode and am not really catching how the fact that JD & Kim are prego takes on the issue of population growth.
Plus, Trudie Styler, Al Gore, Kevin Wall, Sienna Miller, and Incubus, all received honors throughout the evening.
Don’t forget, the show will be broadcast on E! on November 7 @ 8pm (as well on BBC International at some point). To get in the mood, try one of E!’s party drinks using VeeV, or check out their photo gallery from the event.
